One of my favorite moments as an event moderator is seeing hands go up.
Questions being asked. Conversations flowing. An audience that is fully engaged.
Many people think an MC's role is simply to steer the program and keep time.
But every event reminds me that listening is just as important as speaking.
As I moderated the Women in STEM event hosted by the ISACA Student Groups - MKU and Women in STEM at Mount Kenya University - MKU, I found myself learning just as much as I was facilitating.
Every conversation offered something valuable, from the curiosity of students eager to understand the opportunities ahead of them, to the insights shared by industry leaders.
That's what I enjoy most about moderating: creating space for meaningful conversations while remaining fully present to learn from them too.
