The panel session was officially set for 45 minutes… but the stories were so powerful that time flew. We could’ve stayed glued for hours.
It was an honour to moderate such a dynamic panel of powerful voices: Mwau Brian, Hinn Walubengo and Oduor Jagero
They moved us with their stories, their courage and their lessons.
Here are a few gems that stood out for me:
📌 Relationships matter a lot. It’s one thing to have connections, but it’s another to nurture them. Check in. Follow up. Keep them alive.
📌 Don’t be afraid to ask. But ask with strategy, with clarity and with a plan.
📌 Capacity matters. Sometimes rejection comes not because you’re unworthy, but because you haven’t yet built the capacity to carry what you’re asking for.
The theme, “Practice the Ask: Smart Intros, Bold Invitations and Graceful Follow-ups” came alive in every way possible.
I left the room feeling enlightened, challenged and inspired and I know many did too. (You can bet I made a few asks by Saturday already! 😉)
If you’ve been sleeping on these LinkedIn Local sessions, let me tell you: the community, the intentionality, the insights, even the ambience (and yes, the snacks!) will leave you saying, wow.
Huge thanks to Linkedin Local - Nairobi for trusting me to moderate this powerful session.
And to the panelists, thank you for your brilliance.
If you’re looking for a moderator for your next panel or event, look no further. Let’s talk.
P.S. Were you at the event? What stood out for you most?
